PTO Meeting Tomorrow Tuesday Night 6pm

Good Afternoon!

There is a PTO Meeting Tuesday, Dec. 4th, (tomorrow), at 6pm in the Cafe.  Please join us from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm.  for a conversation with Mrs. Parsons on ALEKS, My Students Progress and much more.

Each student will receive a cookie pass from the Cafe for their parents attending the PTO Meeting.

PTO Meeting next Tuesday, Nov.13th 6pm

Hello,
The PTO meeting will be next Tuesday, Nov. 13th at 6pm in the cafe.  Please join us for a presentation on the new core standards and PARCC test.  We will also give out strategies to help your child at home. There will be a presentation on our overall grade with the state.  We will share 
how the score was calculated.

We will have presentations at future PTO meetings to communicate better with our families.

You should have received an email with your password for My Students Progress grade book. If you did not receive an email, please email Mary at marywinters@holyspirit-indy.org
Everyone in grades 1-8 should be able to view grade book at this time.  Everyone should receive emails from your teachers daily with classroom updates and homework.
Our staff will be attending the Indiana Non Public Conference on Thursday and Friday.
Have a nice fall break. See you on Tuesday, October 23rd. We will have bus service.

Eucharistic Adoration

Today, our students participated in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.  The students visited the Parish Chapel for the exposition of Jesus Christ.  The Adoration allows you to pray intimately with Jesus.  Our students have practiced praying intimately with Christ. You are all invited to attend Eucharistic Adoration on the first Friday of the month after the 8:30 am Mass until the 5:30 pm Mass.  Plan to arrive a few minutes early for carpool. Get out of your car a make a visit to the Chapel. 

PTO Harvest Hoedown is Friday, October 12th from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Please join us for a fun evening of food, square dancing, pumpkin contest, trick and trunk, haunted house and much more...come out for a guaranteed good time! Tickets on sale in the office or use order forms.

Friday is Faith Filled Friday/Spirit Wear Day

Hello!
Friday is Faith Filled Friday/Spirit wear with uniform shorts, slacks or skirt/jumper. This includes PE uniform.  You can wear your faith filled shirts from last year or new spirit wear.  PE students may participate and wear your PE shorts with a spirit top.

Some teachers have created email accounts and you should see more communications.  We will send a paper copy of newsletter with oldest and only this week.

School Mass this Sunday at the Noon Mass.  Please wear school uniforms and receive a free uniform pass for next week.  See Mrs. Parsons in the West Vestibule before and after Mass to receive your pass.  Join us this Sunday at Noon Mass.

This is a reminder we are not using MISI or Homeworkwatcher this year. My Students Progress should be up and running soon.  Please check the blogs and websites for current school information.
Progress Reports will be in paper form and come home on Friday.

Service Day on Friday...we need tools...

Hello!
This Friday, September 14th, we will have our first service day.  Students may wear their gym clothes or spirit wear with gym shorts.  If you have no HSS spirit wear, please wear your gym clothes.

We are in need of tools for the service day. Please label all tools and bring to the back playground near the primary building.  We could use wheelbarrows, shovels and rakes. You can pick up your tools at the end of the day Friday.

Prayer Service for 9/11 and Service Day on Friday9/14

On Tuesday, September 11th, our morning prayer will reflect "Peace that Flows from Love".  As we mark 11 years since 9/11, we note most of our students were not born yet.  We remember the many people who died. We pray for the families. We recall the police, fire fighters, medics and chaplains who were the first responders, we are grateful for their sacrifice. Lastly, we think of our armed forces who are fighting in Afghanistan and Irag and their families. Let us gather all these people into our hearts and lift them up to God with love.

On Friday, September 14th, we celebrate a day of service in our community. We will clean our grounds, mulch, and offer services to our neighbors.  Please send in shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows and weed tools to the back playground near the primary building.  Write your name on your tools.  You can take home on Friday afternoon. We will work by classes from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm.  Scecina Memorial High School will send us 6 students who will join us for the day to help. All are welcome to join us for a half hour, hour or as long as you like.

Communication Information

Please note that all staff email is down. We are changing over to a new email server. You can check this blog for updates.

Turn in PTO Entertainment Books money or books not sold tomorrow to homeroom teachers. 

Please notify the office if you see teenagers hanging on the playground using profanity or with air pellet guns similar to bebe gund but with rubber pellets.  We have made a police report.  There will be more evening patrols.
